As a town councillor, you do not get to pick and choose the residents you want to serve and listen to. Councillors in Wasaga Beach do not represent a ward but rather we have an at-large responsibility, which means we represent every resident. When we sign up to be a member of council we know that there will be difficult challenges, situations and people. There will be times when passion for an issue or frustration will have residents upset or even unreasonable at times. We know we cannot please everyone but we can listen carefully and try our best to resolve concerns or work to have residents understand how decisions serve to benefit the greater community.

 

I WILL NOT publicly call residents unpleasant names or self-serving as that is not professional or acceptable. This does not mean that you need to tolerate vulgar unacceptable behaviour or relentless attacks, but these situations I have found to be rare.
