I WILL continue to make every decision for the greater good of the community
In this term of council, there were a number of 6 to 1 votes where I opposed a decision that in my opinion did not generate the greatest benefit to our community. In many cases, I had raised valid concerns and suggestions that did not receive the level of wholesome discussion one would expect. Between now and the election I will be providing greater detail related to some of the major decisions I have opposed and why, including but not limited to:
-
Location of the casino & how the major downsizing of the casino was approved by council
-
Closure of the walk-in clinic pilot project early in this term of council
-
Location and configuration of the library / double pad arena and proceeding with this $60 million-plus build without Provincial & Federal grant funding
-
Dismantling of the Main Street Market and destruction of the kiosks
-
The $300,000.00 plus renovations to the town hall
-
60% increase in development charges in a single year
-
The plan to finalize a purchase of sale agreement for taxpayer-owned Beach 1 lands until the questions & concerns I have raised are addressed to my satisfaction
-
Cash in lieu parking bylaw available for Beach 1 development
